tight muscles causing migraines?

I get migraines. And in learning how to care for my body naturally, learning WHY I get migraines has been KEY. Because when you know why, you can get to the root of the issue and heal!

A few years ago, I got a migraine at a conference and at that point getting a chiropractic adjustment was the only natural way I knew to help my migraines. A chiro at the conference adjusted me and said my muscles were SO tight in my shoulders that as soon as she adjusted me they would tighten right back up and pull things out of alignment again. She told me to go get some magnesium and take it until I was about pooping my pants to loosen the muscles. I did and the migraine fully went away and it was this huge A-HA moment for me!

Since then, I have found Mineral Essence to be the best magnesium. It works SO fast. (I could go on about the amazingness of this supplement, but I’ll save that for another day!) My goal is to take it daily, as well as rub a drop of Valor on the back of my neck. I also fully believe my amber necklace helps. Twice now I have taken it off and the next day my shoulders started to hurt. Gotta help that inflammation with all the things I can! But I’ll be honest. I don’t love the taste of Mineral Essence and I psych myself out sometimes and don’t take it for days and then guess what happens. If you guessed I get a migraine….you’re right. Poo.

So what have I found to help my migraines? Here’s my lineup. First and foremost, Mineral Essence. Full or extra dose 2, maybe 3 times a day. I quit looking at screens because they make it worse. Grab my Roman Chamomile and Valor oil and use them. Put on some Peppermint and/or CBD Muscle Rub. I drink some water if my stomach can tolerate it. (See supplements here!)

I have also been LOVING my HyperVolt massage gun. I had been taking advantage of Ki’s elbows on my shoulders, but the HyperVolt has truly been worth the investment to help prevent tight muscles and help when they are too far gone. And I go to sleep! Sleep is a must for me to get past them. Usually within 24 hours they are gone and I feel great!

Sometimes I also go to the chiropractor (in addition to my regular appointments) and sometimes I use UnWind for Magnesium if I want to double up or my stomach feels like it the Mineral Essence just won’t stay down. It’s a powder so it is easier, but I’ve found it isn’t AS much of a help as Mineral Essence. Thankfully, I know how my body feels when I start getting a migraine and can usually nip it in the bud before it is full blown with all these things.
